Ekrupay aims to serve Indian society and was established with values and purposes derived from Indian culture. Ekrupay is a significant part of Shagun - which symbolizes love, happiness and blessing. A more significant meaning is added to it as the number 1 is indivisible, which signifies continuous hope and good luck.
We operate with the simple belief that the ripple effect of kindness is immeasurable once someone decides to take the first step. In our busy lives, if we take time out to celebrate our special occasions with people from the urban slum and the less privileged communities, the impact that one celebration has on the lives of those people can only be measured through their gratitude and unfading smiles.
Why should people choose to associate themselves with Ekrupay? The answer is simple. The amount of contribution is insignificant but the intent is what matters most. Ekrupay values every contribution and hence ensures that well-wishers are given proper recognition for their generosity of spirit to share their day with Ekrupay’s beneficiaries.
Ekrupay’s journey began with the idea of celebrating birthdays with children whose parents were working in the unorganized sector. Since his first birthday, we were motivated by a child who has been celebrating his special day by distributing gifts among less privileged children from urban villages. His dedication and attitude to spreading joy, and including others to be a part of his special day, pushed us to start Ekrupay Ventures. We launched Ekrupay Ventures in 2020, and have since expanded our operations from celebrating birthdays, and festivals to digitalizing the village of Uttarakhand.
Ekrupay had humble beginnings, where we brought the beacon of light to policemen who stayed away from their families even on festivals, to ensure that our cities remained safe for every other citizen. The well-wishers of Ekrupay celebrate their birthdays with the children from the urban slums and give them toys all the while sharing their joy. Since then, we have come a long way and have brought smiles to more than 500 beneficiaries. Our programs are spread in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), and we plan to expand our operations to more cities soon.v
Ekrupay was established with a vision to bring happiness and help create unforgettable memories for the less privileged communities, by reviving philanthropy in every household. We want to bring a smile to every child’s face.
Ekrupay believes in continuing the tradition of shagun and inculcating it with the purpose of transforming lives and creating a better society, one kindness at a time.
